Applying 3M rockguard is a craft and requires a lot of patience. The vehicle getting the install is first washed and degreased in the areas that the paint protection film will be applied. If the customer has provided touch up paint, any rock chips will be touched up before the film is applied. Once the vehicle has been dried, the 3M pattern(s) is then computer cut according to the year, make and model of the vehicle. The pattern(s) are then applied using a specially blended spray solution. Once film is applied we then heat treat all the edges to prevent them from lifting up and to help it conform to the contours of the vehicle. All areas are then wiped clean and the vehicle is left to dry. Before we release any vehicle, it is double checked for any malformations or incomplete drying.
